Weddings are huge events. For most of our clients, their wedding is the most important day of their lives. Yet, it was the first time they ever had to plan one. In order to plan out a wedding, it is essential to know what exactly takes place. There is a traditional design to throwing a wedding reception. We have included this design for our clients to help during their planning. But not all weddings follow the traditional format, and your wedding can be shaped into whatever you want it to be. We are here to help you express yourself in a smooth, fun, and completely professional way.
•Cocktail Hour - during cocktail hour, guests are arriving. Appetizers are being served. Soft music is setting the mood in the background. Everyone is mingling, introducing themselves, running into people they haven't seen in ages, and talking about how beautiful your ceremony was. As your DJ, this is the time we play a mellow mix of your choosing. Some venues have separate rooms for cocktail hour, which we can accommodate with an additional sound system.
•Bridal Party Introductions - once your guests have made their rounds with familiar faces and are situated, our DJ introduces the bridal party. Partnered together, we announce each of the members of the bridal party to a round of applause and appreciation. Like main actors in a play, the bride and groom are introduced last, making their way to the spotlight before family and friends. During the planning phase, we will discuss what type of music you would like for this part. We have a variety of choices for the bridal party introductions, ranging from traditional to upbeat, exciting remixes.
•First Dance - after their first formal introduction and already on the dance floor, we announce the first dance ever as husband and wife. You can choose to place the first dance right after your introduction or after dinner. The first dance song choice is typically a special song for the couple. Or it could be a song that expresses the nature of your love. You get to decide. Our massive music library has its own section for first dance songs. Of course, with literally tens of thousands of songs to choose from, you may be feeling a little overwhelmed, so we’ll be glad to suggest the music that really expresses your feelings and fits the atmosphere best.
•Toasts and Announcements - after the crowd finishes their cheering, it's time to settle down and make some toasts. We will provide wireless microphones, so everyone will have the opportunity to share their kind words from wherever they are.
•Dinner Hour - as the food arrives and guests are holding conversations, we play a customized mix of whichever music you choose. This is a good time for something fun and relaxing, like old time favorites. We have sample playlists to choose from, but feel free to browse our library and create your own.
•Transition Time - as dinner is cleared away, it's time to get things rolling. Guests are getting up, moving around, and the music is moving right along with them. During this time, the DJ turns up the tempo, inviting guests to get on their feet.
•First Dances - the first dance between a bride and groom can happen after introductions or after dinner - you choose. Even if the first dance has already occurred, there is the father-daughter dance, the mother-son dance, and sometimes a song for just the bridal party.
•General Dancing - following these specially highlighted dances, the floor is open to the guests. Our DJ's will start off with general dance music, so all ages can get swept up in the rhythm. As the night goes on, the music gets trendier. Slow songs will be played as well, for close romantic dancing. Even if you don’t design the playlist, everything will be based on your approval.
•Cake-Cutting, Garter Toss, and the Tossing of the Bouquet - these events are placed during the dancing portion of the evening. While everyone is pumped up, we break into the garter and bouquet toss. Our DJ's are experienced at making these activities lots of fun, so the celebratory mood continues without interruption.
•Other Activities - some clients have their own activities they want included, whether family traditions or something they saw at a wedding that they thought was fun. These include the money dance, gift giveaways, games, etc. We have musical selections to fit with all additional wedding activities.
